MIRATECH

MIRATECH was founded in 1992 by group of scientists of the Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics (GIC). The headquarters of MIRATECH are located in the Campus of the GIC - a centrally planned complex of facilities.  MIRATECH has advanced hardware and telecommunication facilities.

MIRATECH has partnership agreements with Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics and Institute of Software Systems of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences.

International market: software development

Today, our company is a strong software development company with highly educated staff and advanced infrastructure. We have 10 years of successful experience in development of software for the international market. The core of our team has 20 years experience of large-scale software development projects.

MIRATECH specializes in customized software development and project management. Our enormous programming resources are coupled with extensive experience in the computer industry of our project managers. This  will translate into rapid implementation and extraordinary cost savings for customer. We help customers to leverage emergent technologies to fulfill their tactical and strategic needs. Why offshore development? The necessity and advantages of the offshore software development

Nowadays, computers are permeating almost all aspects of business life. This has produced a huge demand for computer professionals who can develop software solutions to satisfy these business needs. This increase in demand has resulted in creating a shortage of qualified personnel and has driven the price of computer professionals to prohibitive levels. The problem is much more acute in the case of object oriented developers because of their scarcity in the market. As more and more companies are realizing the advantages of object oriented design and programming, the small number of experienced OO consultants in Europe is increasingly difficult to find and outrageously expensive to retain.

Why in Ukraine? The advantage of offshore software development in Ukraine

Ukraine is situated in Eastern Europe with a total land area of 607,700 square kilometers, which approximates to that of France.  The population of Ukraine numbers 52.1 million. In Soviet times, Ukraine, representing some quarter of the economy of the USSR, built up a widely industrialized infrastructure. The Ukraine constituted only 2.7 per cent of the territory of the former Soviet Union but almost one third of scientific and hi-tech potential of former Soviet Union was concentrated in Ukraine. 

The Europe’s second-ever computer was developed in Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics (GIC) under the supervision of Academician Lebedev in 1952. GIC was leading research institute in computer science and software development in former Soviet Union with about 6000 employees in staff. Basic parts of researches were engaged in military oriented programs including Soviet navy and space programs.

Located in the geographical center of Europe, with highly qualified software specialists (programmers and managers), the labor market is still one of the cheapest in Europe.

For the moment this huge, highly qualified manpower potential still has not been fully used due to restructuring of economy.

Modes of Operation

MIRATECH’s preferred approach is to develop the majority of the projects at its facilities in Ukraine rather than at the customer’s site. This is mutually beneficial to both the customer and MIRATECH. From the customer viewpoint it ensures the lowest rates, and timely delivery of the contracted project. It also minimizes the travel and living costs associated with consulting. From our viewpoint, it allows us to meet delivery schedules by limiting the number of revisions to requirements and functionality that typically occur when work is done at customer site. In addition, it allows MIRATECH to apply whatever resources are necessary, as they are easier to obtain in Ukraine.

MIRATECH works closely with your company and keeps you up to date on the progress of your projects. This is achieved by monitoring the criteria defined in a performance matrix early on in the project life cycle.

MIRATECH has defined a practical development methodology that works successfully with the offshore model. At the client site the MIRATECH team does most of the design work of the project. It communicates closely with the users to ensure that their expectations are being met. The project design is modular and individual modules are sent for implementation to Ukraine while design of other modules continues at the client site. By pipelining the work this way, MIRATECH manages to reduce development time significantly.

The "Symphony" project

The project was developed for a Swiss subsidiary of an international organization and is intended to improve communication with its headquarters. The system executes the  transfer of flower orders between florist shops and headquarters.

The architecture of the system includes working places for shops, communication system and working places of personnel at various services of Fleurop headquarters (retrains service, post office, bookkeeping). The communication system provides reception, automatic and hand-operated processing and transfer of the orders on following channels:

Besides, the system provides all commercial accountant procedures with shops and headquarters.

The system has hardware and software protection from unauthorized access to information.

The communication system is constructed using client-server architecture and Intel-based computers with Windows NT and Windows 95 operating systems. Saving, and the processing of the orders, but also accountant functions are performed using Microsoft SQL Server. This guarantees increased reliability of the data, and makes the system robust to equipment failure.

The software was developed with Microsoft Visual C++ and Microsoft Visual Basic. The system was constructed to easily accommodate additional languages, data format changes, addition of new communication subsystems, etc. This will simplify using the system, even if  processing and transfer of the orders differ in branches of different countries.

EDOS-SC

EDOS-SC - electronic ordering stock control system was designed for stock handling in the agencies of a large international weaving equipment manufacture - Sulzer Ruti.

EDOS-SC is the ordering system. This is based on the history of stock handling and can generate suggestions for the required quantities of appropriate articles. According to user defined formulas suggestions can be generated dependent on the number of transactions and the amount articles which were withdrawn from stock. Of course, user can generate the order manually and can change ordering information, which was generated by EDOS-SC.

EDOS-SC also provide consignment stock handling. EDOS-SC has an interface with ordering system - EDOS. These two systems are integrated by import/export functions. User can import files from EDOS into EDOS-SC with articles definitions, quantities on stock, etc. and export files from EDOS-SC to EDOS with orders and consignment stock status. Consignment stock status files can be generated automatically or by user request. EDOS-SC has multi-language support and all messages, names and captions in the forms and reports can be issued in one of five languages - English, German, French, Italian and Spanish.

Also EDOS-SC can run in a multi-user mode and has a subsystem, which allows the administrator of EDOS-SC to set different access rights to the different users.

Presently, EDOS-SC is used in the agencies in the different countries - in the USA, Germany, Italy, France, South Africa, and Switzerland.

EDOS-SC was designed in MS Visual Basic 3.0 different tools for VB like AWARE.VBX, VSVBX and MS ACCESS 2.0 DBMS and can run in Windows NT, Windows 3.XX and Windows 95 environment.

CHOICE Operations Research package

The CHOICE package is intended to solve multi objective personal or group decision-making problems with hierarchical structure of criteria and with finite set of alternatives.

CHOICE is able to provide a systematic procedure for hierarchically representing the elements of any problem. It organizes the basic rationality by breaking down a problem into its smaller constituent parts. It then guides decision makers through a series of judgments using numerical, graphical, verbal and pair wise comparison modes to express the relative intensity of impact of the elements in the hierarchy. These judgments are then translated to numbers. The CHOICE includes procedures to synthesize the judgments to derive priorities among criteria and subsequently for alternative solutions. The entire process is subject to revision and re-examination until one is satisfied that one has covered all the important features needed to represent and solve the problem.

The CHOICE package is based to a great extent on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) but it is also based on other theoretical grounds.

SNLP-system Operations Research Package

The SNLP-system is intended to solve the following problems:

The package was developed above all out of necessity to solve practical problems. Above all these are problems of power systems development accounting for device failures, problems of prospective planning, accounting for demand uncertainty, and agricultural problems accounting for weather conditions. The SNLP-system runs on PC.

MasterEye32 - Industry leading program to control networked PC's

MasterEye32 helps to control and supervise networked PC-systems. With a mouse click you have the insight and instant command of all the PC’s within your network. Or simply send your screen and activity as a demo to the chosen systems. The supervisor may observe key systems like servers or gateways visually. The good and didactically correct demonstration of a software is often only possible with highly complex video or with unsatisfying attachments to the overhead display. The often-realized way through hardware video control systems is costly and limited in flexibility. MasterEye32 is based onto existing data-networks and transmits screens intelligent and efficiently. MasterEye32 has been developed by specialists out of the EDP-teaching environment and is tailored to the needs of the daily usage. Please see www.mastereye.ch for details.

 

MIRACLE XRP

Miracle XRP is an integrated object-oriented environment for development of business administrative solutions. It is a successor of the previous MS DOS based integrated administrative system Miracle. The application systems was developed using Miracle XRP functionalities, which completely cover the scope of previous Miracle applications. At the same time it expand the scope for applications areas unsupported by Miracle because of the restrictions placed by the basic DBMS used in the earlier Miracle architecture. 

A finished Miracle XRP application is represented as some collection of interacting objects belonging to different classes. The objects may show themselves on screen and external printing devices, change their states in response to user’s actions, influence states of other related objects, store themselves in the persistent storage and be retrieve from storage, etc. From the end user’s point of view the interface with Miracle XRP objects  is completely identical to those with folders, shortcuts and documents like in Windows. This simplifies training of the applications. 

The internal logic of implementing objects is transparent to the user. This makes it possible to modify and/or expand the application, without bothering the end user. The user will only notice additional options or system improvements in one or several standard interfaces. The core of Miracle XRP is repository, which is the database where implemented applications are stored. There are project management tools, which in response to customer’s requirements allow selecting some available classes, which collectively support required functionality. Some of the classes are implemented as standard C++ library, the others are derived from C++ classes via adding new attributes and overriding some of C++ methods in the Miracle XRP Interpreter Language. Using information about selected classes stored in the repository, a special installation routine allows to configure files and databases remotely on clients and servers. This activity was based on MIRACLE software - Integrated Business Administration Solution - Accountancy, Financial Analysis and Management. This business was started in 1993. We have designed Ukrainian version of MIRACLE to meet Ukrainian legislative requirements and standards. A set of equipment (POS, electronic cash register, smart-card readers, weights, bar-code equipment) has been adapted to MIRACLE. We also develop customized software for domestic customers: industry, public sector, and retail business.
